Professional miniature painter, will be at Play 2026
My name is Aurelian Leclerc. I am Belgian, born in 1989, and I live in Turin, where I work as a professional miniature painter.
Like many others, I first discovered this world through Warhammer and historical games, but my true passion for painting began after moving to Italy for university studies. In Turin, I found a hobby store with a dedicated painting space - and that is where everything changed. From that moment on, I never stopped painting.
In my work, I always try to give fantasy a tangible soul. I am fascinated by the idea of making the unreal feel believable, grounding fantasy in a form of tangible realism, almost as if it could truly come to life.
My main artistic influences are H. R. Giger, Zdzisław Beksiński, and Frank Frazetta - artists capable of transforming imagination into something powerful, visceral, and deeply evocative.
Today, I work closely with The Printer Studio, where we develop original miniature lines together.
Although I was originally destined for a career in psychology and criminology, life ultimately led me to explore a different kind of depth - the one found between painting, color, and imagination. And that is exactly where I want to be.
Aurelian will be present with the Collettivo Araldi every day at Play: Festival del Gioco 2026.
