Manifesto
“Come in, choose, play” has always been Play’s motto. It’s an invitation for everyone to get involved, to discover and to experience the variety and breadth of the gaming options. Because at Play, above all, we play together.
Play is the Games Festival – focusing primarily on board, role-playing and miniatures games. A delicate balance that must be constantly nurtured, bringing together three distinct identities and making them complementary. First and foremost, the national convention – the largest gathering of associations and gamers in Italy. Then there is the focus on ludic culture, which makes it an essential meeting place for the worlds of research and education. Last but not least, the trade fair: the benchmark for the games publishing industry, with an international reach.
This convergence has given rise to an event that is unique on both the national and global stages: much more than a convention, much more than a fair, it manages to engage everyone in the world of games and ludic culture.
Play brings together the passion of gaming associations for promoting and sharing games, the publishers’ commitment to showcasing their products to the full, and the enthusiasm of the audience for the opportunity to try out new releases and timeless classics.
That is why Play supports gaming associations, offering them free admission, spaces and tables, and making them central to the programme and the success of the event. At the same time, it welcomes proposals from publishers across the gaming world, offering companies an ideal stage. But above all it engages the audience with activities suitable for everyone, whether they are seasoned players, newcomers or simply curious, with a particular focus on the players of tomorrow.
Three identities: convention, culture, fair
Three pillars: associations, publishers, audience
Three key words: come in, choose, play!
