Play – the Games Festival is opening its doors wider than ever, thanks to a new collaboration with Auxilia.
For the first time, the Festival is introducing tools designed to support the participation of people with communication disabilities, through the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) symbols — a set of strategies that use images and symbols to make information easier to understand and to support expression when verbal communication is difficult.
Three dedicated resources will be available:
- a communication board for participating in gaming activities (tabelle-CAA-gioco.pdf)
- a communication board for accessing food stands (tabelle-CAA-ristorazione.pdf)
- a fair map adapted with symbols to make navigation easier
All materials will be available at the Family Arena (Hall 16) and can be used freely throughout your visit.
This is an important step in making Play a place where everyone can find their way, communicate, and take part — and we're proud to be moving in that direction.
