La Battaglia di Ponte Samoggia

The Bologna-based wargame association Fossalta brings incredible scenarios to Play this year, including the Battle of Ponte Samoggia.

The diorama-completely playable-presents the events of 20 April 1945.

The goal of the American troops was to reach the Via Emilia and seize the strategic location of Ponte Samoggia—the first step in encircling the city of Bologna, in coordination with the British 8th Army, the Polish forces, and the Italian combat groups advancing from the east.
This fully playable diorama simulates the confrontation between the American 10th Mountain Division’s vanguard and the rear guard of the 90th Panzergrenadier Division.
